Application and Tuition fees

As a citizen of a country outside the European Union (EU), the European Economic Area (EEA) or Switzerland, you are required to pay application and tuition fees for studies at Umeå University.

Arkitektprovet is a practical evaluation to explore prospective students' artistic and architectural skills, and offers a possibility to join the Architectural programme based on experience rather than academic credits.

The evaluation starts with a home assignment, which usually  is announced in February or March, and due around April 15. Following a formal application, prospective students may then complete a second assignment, in Umeå, in the beginning of June.

Important: Due to the spread of the Coronavirus Covid-19, the Vice Chancellors' of Umeå University, Lund University, Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg and KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has decided to cancel Aritektprovet for the application round to the fall semester 2020. The 1/3 of places in the programme usually allocated to applicants who have done Arkitektprovet have been relocated to the other application categories. 2020-04-07, The Faculty Board at the Faculty for Science and Technology has decided that 66 % of the total admissions for  the fall semester 2020 will be admitted on grades and  34 % by results from Högskoleprovet (the national university aptitude test).
